Changing cylinder head

Hello. I can't seem to find anywhere about this topic. I acquired a 2007 gz 250 with droped valve and its a complete basket case, And the head is complete trash. Can I replace it with a 86 or 09 head. Are their any differences thru the years.

Cylinder Head Work

I would stick with the 09 head. Not sure of anything earlier but 02 through 10 should be good. I would pm spldrt for more information on rebuild, etc. He has done it all in that regard. I know he will give you lots of good advice.
