I'm thinking I was in the right place, right time..
Wasn't sure if this was the right forum to post this, but I have decided after 6 years with my beloved GZ, current problems notwithstanding, to move on .
So I found this Intruder, 1996, 800, original paint and bought her today and always a Suzuki guy till the end. She's a 1996 Intruder 800 and even my mechanic (who was with me) said she'd be hard to pass up on, especially at $900... I will remain a member here as long as I have my GZ and I appreciate everyone here and the wealth of information you guys have to offer! Thank you again... chandlerbingfl Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I actually shopped around for an 800 about 3 years ago but they were too expensive for a really good one in my opinion. You lucked out with a good price and what appears to be a well taken care of bike. Check out the Intruder Alert forum if you haven't already. They are a pretty good bunch. Thank you and I already have Definitely a different ride. More torque in 5th on the Intruder than anything on my GZ. But I will say I do miss the "stealth" of my GZ when I pull into my community lol.... Everyone now knows when I coming or going hahahaha...

Thanks! Although I probably asked way more questions than provided answers Still not sure if I'm going to sell my GZ, but now that I have another ride, this could give me a chance to experience a teardown/repair/rebuild at my own pace...

You may want to keep the GZ. Its cheap to have around.
My wife also moved up.... sort of.... She purchased this from her brother this summer: '99 Fat Boy with custom paint and some other tidbits. |

I thought about keeping my GZ but my neighbor wants to buy it, and it does need some work. I think your wife moved up "more than sort of lol".
Same with my move from the GZ to the Intruder! My Trixie has more torque in 5th than my GZ had on a good day (but I'll never forget her hahaha) chandlerbingfl |

Nice looking bike. As I have never had a desire to own a H-D I do still appreciate a good looking one.
