Adjusting the brake pedal

I know it can be adjusted but can I adjust it so it's below my foot kinda level with the peg instead of sticking up above my foot?

Yes. For some reason, all GZs come from the factory with the brake pedal set up wrong. Just slacken off the locknut under the pedal, and adjust the bolt until the pedal is comfortably set under your foot when you're in the riding position. Tighten up the locknut. Then you'll need to adjust the brake at the back wheel. so it operates properly. After that, look under the bike (about half way back) for the brake light adjuster. Turn it until the brake light operates when you put your foot on the brake. Sounds complicated, but it's not. It should only take ten minutes, and will improve things no end.
