Motorcycle ergonomics : See what you look like on a bike

Got this info off one of my favorite podcasts on iTunes from howstuffworks.com Carstuff

It's what I used to find the most comfortable 250cc for me being 6' 3'' and likes cruiser bikes, all at home.

Its great to compare and scroll through many bikes and even put on a passenger.

That is really neat. This gives us a little help beforehand when considering another bike. This should be a "Sticky" for everyone to glance at when a new ride beckons them.

Its fun to play around with. Especially with hundreds of different bikes to choose from. If you put in too short of a rider inseam, it will flat out tell you TOO SHORT TO REACH THE PEGS! :lol:

It made me feel better about making a lot of bikes look small. Especially the GZ. At work they some said I look like Magilla the Gorilla on it.

I put on there a Harley Davidson Ultra Glide Classic what a coworker rides, and put in my height and inseam. I'd look a lot better in that! Even put in 8' 11'' tall rider for a Robert Wadlow look on that bike.

Thanks bwader, great site!

I love how it 'morphs' from one bike to the other when you use the scroll wheel of your mouse.
(you'll have to put in more than one bike of course)

PS wow - on a "Honda Rebel 250" my knees would be up to the handlebar - glad I decided for the GZ250 too!

That's the main thing I looked for was the knee angle. I liked the looks of the TU250X but I saw it didn't have the most comfortable knee angle for me. I liked the look of the Yamaha V-Star but didn't want to have to take off the exhaust just to change the oil filter and I just wanted less to maintain. Honda Rebel would have been the easiest find as there were 10+ Rebels in my area's craigslist.

Though I have read some people like the sport bike lean forward and their knees more bent. But either way the site really helps save a lot of time and I don't think I would have known about the GZ without it.

I heard the website off of the Carstuff podcast topic called

Even though both the guys on there don't ride motorcycles they sounded like they did their research well. They have a lot of interesting topics in all sorts of vehicles too.
