Bent gear shift lever
Hey everyone!
Yesterday I was riding home when a guy in front of me suddenly and violently braked without any reason on an empty street, as a beginner I think I've pulled too much on the brake and fell. I think the guy saw me as he stopped soon after I fell, but kept going as soon as I got up... Well I got up with no harm, but the gearshift lever has completely bent on itself and shifting is a pain. Can I try to bend it back with some heat and hammering, or should I buy a new one? In the latter case, is it a specific model or are there any "aftermarket" lever I could buy?

Re: Bent gear shift lever
You can but try to bend it back. If you can do it, ok. If not, you haven't lost anything. I've done the same with the brake pedal when the bike went down. At worst, you can still ride while the new one arrives. :2tup:
BTW, you shouldn't need heat - just a 4lb lump hammer.
