Re: petcock

I believe they are coarse threaded little screws. They go through both the petcock and the tank. The tank is pre-tapped for them, so you need to make sure you get the proper thread.

Correction, there are two small bolts, hex head. I don't have any thread info but on Ronayers they're $1.04 each if you need some new ones.
Where is your bike, if you're moving?

Re: petcock

Thanks Jonathan, my bike is in my garage. I had to do work on the tqnk i bought from schooler. Remember him ? I stripped the beatiful blue paint and repainted red to match my bike. Im moving 35 miles away and need to ride the bike to my new place.

Re: petcock

What happened to the old tank? You tossed it and never saved the petcock and bolts????????????????? Sounds like something I would do.

You can create a quickie account using an email and just purchase as a guest. It doesn't take any time at all.

Re: petcock

Thats what i did Jonathan, used my email then just ordered the stuff. Honestly i dont remember gaskets for the bolts that hold the petcock to the tank. Im still a bit confused, and dont want fuel to come out where the bolts go.

Re: petcock

See page 35 of the parts manual. It shows what appears to be an O ring, above the petcock body (no part number) and washer type gaskets on the bolts.

Re: petcock

I got the bolts and the metal washers, im not sure how fuel WILL NOT leak out from the bolt area with metal washers. I would tnk the washers would go on top of the petcock, in between the petcock and the tank. Alan, my manual is in a box somewhere in the new place unfortunately.
