E-33 carb settings?
Hi all.
Due to erratic running and stalling issues on the better half's Geezer, I decided to strip the carb down for an inspection and a clean. All's gone well and all seems in order. The only problem I have is not knowing the number of turns out for the pilot screw on the E-33 set-up. The service manual gives the info for the number of turns on other carbs, but not for the E-33. It seems it came pre-set! Unfortunately someone has been into the carb before. I counted the number of turns in before stripping the carb and this was 2 turns. The other carbs are set to either 2.5 turns or 1 3/8 turns, which as left me a little puzzled on the 2 turns on the girlfriend's bike. Does anyone know the correct settings for the E-33 carb? Any help with this info would be greatly appreciated. Shamus Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: E-33 carb settings?
2 1/2 turns out is a good starting point. You need to adjust with bike warmed up idling.Turn out slowly (rich) till the idle starts to roll, than back in (lean) till idle starts to stumble.About half way between both extremes,to were the bike idles smoothest.Usually about 3 to 3 1/2 turns.

Re: E-33 carb settings?
Thanks very much Blaine. We set the mixture as you explained and adjusted the valves. The old Geezer's runnin' better than ever.
I've never had to touch the mixture screw on any other bike I've worked on before, so this is something else I've learned. Many thanks again good sir. Login or Register to Remove Ads |
