Waking up the bikes.

Spent a few minutes today checking tires pressures and all the lights on both bikes. My Vstrom has been sleeping since Oct 19th and fired up so quick it amazed me. Lynda's M-50 needed a little throttle to fire up and then proceeded to idle like a champion. Both bikes have Fuel Injection and they run very well on all ocassions. Gotta love modern technology when it is applied to bikes.
Somehow(lazy me no doubt)neither bike got any fuel stabilizer for the big sleep so the first ride will be to find some fresh gas to top up the tanks. Might just do that tomorrow.

There is nothing quite like the familiar sound of your engine idling after 2-3 months of silence.

Re: Waking up the bikes.

You got that right. The Vstrom is just a quiet exhaust with engine noise rattling around in the fairing. The M-50 is a slightly larger V-twin with just right dual pipes that sounds so nice. Rolling on the throttle at highways speeds is pure music without being harsh and noisy. I really can't understand doing an exhuast mod to an M like so many riders do as soon as possible. Even at idle speed the pipes are nice.
