fuel line....

What size fuel line would 6.5 mm convert too? I need a new fuel line and i am gonna get a filter but without taking it of and carting it to the parts store i don't know what size to get and id rather not have to do it in the parking lot at the store I have a feeling that there is gonna be a lot of spillage and don't wanna have to deal with that outside of my work area. I am going to replace the line but i think that if i use a hose clamp scissor type that stops liquid from flowing in the line and then just replace one side at a time I can replace the line with minimal fuel loss, and time.

Re: fuel line....

With the petcock on RUN, you will only lose the amount of fuel that is resting in the line...which should equal maybe a teaspoon full.

And to answer your original questions, by my calculations, that would be a 1/4" line.

Re: fuel line....

I am changing it because i want to add a see through inline fuel filter so that I can monitor the quality of fuel that I am getting from different stations. i will see junk in a clear filter and know not to go back there.
also the oem hose is 23.622 inches long from what i gather and that is kinda long but i can use it on my lawn mower too so i will just do them both at the same time.

Get a fuel filter for the lawn mower too. They do their work in a dirty environment 100 % of the time.

Re: fuel line....

That is what I meant I am gonna do the line and filters at the same time and I went with the kawasaki 49019-7005 canister type clear filter with paper media it is rather large so I had too loop the fuel line and zip tie it to make sure that it wouldn't crimp the line when it started to settle in.. pictures to follow just can't get my phone to post to this forum for some reason.

Re: fuel line....

Be careful with looping the fuel line.I tried that and it wouldn't flow enough fuel at road speed.I ended up using a smaller filter so i didn't need to loop the fuel line.
