Cold Weather Starting (Kind of)

Ill start off by saying I need a new choke cable. Just haven't had the time to get one. Is it necessary to use choke if the bike has been sitting in 60-70F degree weather for 8-10 hours? Is that considered cold for the bike? Also, it's at night. When I go to work it's about 80, bike starts fine without choke, but when I get off its between 60-70, it almost starts, but then I eventually run the battery out, and when I get jumped it starts right up, like nothing was wrong.

Is it even the choke? or could it be the battery

Use the choke if the bike has been sitting that long. It's normal to need choke when you start up, unless the bike has only been sitting for an hour or two after a decent ride. You will wear out your battery much sooner if you have to keep jumping it.

Yes, you need the choke after it's been sitting for a few hours. You are just putting undue strain on the battery & starter.
