Hi there, & welcome to the madhouse. Is your bike the Canadian spec- with the big 3D Marauder logo on the tank (as opposed to the American flat "S")? If it is, it's the Canadian/European spec, which means that the carb is set up richer than the American bikes (American emission regs), so if it is, then ignore anything posted here about carb mods. :2tup:

My bike was the Canadian model, and it still ran lean.It ran smoother & started easier when cold, when I set the carb up to run richer.I don't mean changing any internal jets.A idle jet adjustment will make a big improvement in how the bike starts & idles.

Mmmmmmmmmmm The canadian & European spec is supposed to be the same. Never ever had any problems with mine. Starting usually doesn't need choke. Idling is fine. Performance is great. Just goes to show ...............

Re: newbies from canada

Canadian bikes still have the best looking tanks even if they do run lean.

Re: newbies from canada

Something I noticed years ago with a carb bike is let it sit out in the sunshine for a while before starting it. That only applies if you have a dark cool garage I suppose but it did make a difference in warm up time and choke use. Your results may vary of course.

Leamington?!? You may as well be American! :neener:

Welcome to the board. The search engine here will be your best friend in the next few months. I've gotten a lot of great tips and haven't even had to bug anyone by asking questions that spawn repeat threads. In fact, I rarely post because my newbie questions have already been answered

Good Luck and ride safe, maybe we'll run into each other at Port Dover next month. Friday the 13th is not to be missed!
