Welcome David. You will find your off road experience an asset when you get on the street. You already have the basic muscle memory. The forum may be one of the smaller ones on the web but it is also one of the friendliest and full of good folks with knowledge to share.

Re: Hi, from Umatilla, FL

Welcome to the forum and the streets. I think you will find a lot of guys, and girls, on here that once rode exclusively off road and switched to street bikes later in life. I work with a couple of guys that were serious dirt track competitors 20-30 years ago and now they are pretty much street only riders. One of my friends blew his knee out so bad racing for Yamaha that they had to do a complete knee replacement on him 20+ years ago. He's had that one done over in the last 5 years and about 2 years ago they finally did his other knee. I guess all that jumping and crashing takes it's toll. Anyway, you can pretty much ride on the street for as long as you are able to swing your leg over the seat

Welcome aboard from South Carolina. Taking the course will be one of the best things you can do for your riding career. Ride safe.
