First solo ride

Today was a beautiful day in Southwest Ohio, so instead of cleaning house, I decided to take "Icer" for a solo ride. Since buying "Icer", my husband has accompanied me on rides, but today just called for me to make the big step to ride alone. Feeling just a little nervous, I set out going through the neighborhood and then crossed a major street and headed to a restaurant for lunch. What a wonderful feeling, the wind, the bike and me. My goal is to ride to work next spring, and after today I am one step closer to achieving that goal. I am amazed at myself - 3 months ago I couldn't even ride. I think I will have to get cold weather gear as I don't think I can go 4 or 5 months without riding.

Re: First solo ride

Good for you.

Solo rides are good to get in touch with your bike, and also with your inner self.

Glad to hear your confidence is rising. You will only get better at it. Keep it upright and enjoy the twisty bits!

Re: First solo ride

Congrats. Your first solo is a big step. Lynda went through the same thing and it made her feel great. Solo riding will give you time to read your inner self on 2 wheels and bond with the bike faster. It's all good.

Re: First solo ride

Congratulations on making your milestone. Take your time and periodically review "Proficient Motorcycling." With any luck, you'll develop habits that lead to the heightened road awareness that improves your odds of trouble-free riding. Also, look into AAA for motorcyles if you don't have it already.
