Suzuki TU250X

Now a year into TU250 and really love it.

Frustrating, can't find a luggage rack. Looked & looked and no such critter.

Has anyone else found one that will fit the new TU250? :??:

Hello,Welcome to the forum.If there are none to be found maybe you can fabricate one.Some of the members have built their own racks for the G.Z.

Great idea and the rack can be made for your own specific purposes and load requirements. Also just wander around dealers and see what they have in stock for other bikes. My first bike was a 125 Suzuki but a rack for a full size street bike fit beautifully after I made one little bracket from scrap to act as a spacer/support. You just might luck out.

I know you were looking for a rack, but have you come across any nice tail bags that fit?

Yea, I think "saddle bags" is going to be the way I have to go. I also found, that if I stack more than 5" on the back seat, I can't clear my legs over the bike. I got to watch some of these real big bikes and see how the riders get on.

Getting on is a practiced art form. Try this. Straighten handle bars, hands on grips with front brake pulled. Step up on foot peg and swing your leg over. Bending your leg at the knee will also help a lot. Try it, practice it. It does work and the side stand will not break off. And no, it will not make you look silly.

Should work fine on the TU......alas, not so good on the GZ and other "cruisers".

There, I have found that bringing your knee kind of up to your chest so that your foot is pretty much right under your butt.......and then "sticking" your foot and leg over the seat, instead of swinging it over, is about the only way to go. Even that manuver would be a lot easier with a center mount peg to help out.

When both the luggage rack AND the back seat are full with bags it gets kind of tricky. :biggrin:

I keep forgetting about the more forward pegs on the GZ. Try this. When stepping up on the foot peg lean your weight forward to the front of the bike. Keep your leg straight at the hip but bend your knee to lift your foot. You can clear a lot of stuff easily. I can clear both the side bag, trunk and a tallish drivers backrest this way. At 65 I can do this on my Vstrom so a younger more agile rider should be able to do it too.

I just have to practice. I've had right knee replaced and do not have the bend in it that I used to. And, I'm over 65.

I think the saddle bags are going to be the best bet.
