Greetings from Portugal

Hi there!

I actually dont own a Suzuki GZ250, but her sister the GN250. I believe the engine is exactly the same, so I am very happy to have found this fantastic forum. Not much info or many GN250 users on the web...

I bought this bike 3 week ago with 13.000km (1993) and after doing a home revision (new oil, filter, air filter, front tire) I already rode her for 1200km.
Most my rides are commutes with 32 km distance, 20 of which on highway speeds (around 100km/h at around 6100 r/min).. hope that's not too rough on the engine, is it?

Greetings from the sunny Portugal and wish you all good rides!

Sergio

(and sorry about my poor written english)

Welcome Sergio. It is always great to have a new member and to hear from some one from far away places. If possible can you post pics so we can compare the bike to a GZ. I seem to remember the GN in Canada years ago but I don't think it was sold in the U.S. Might be interesting to our American members.

Re: Greetings from Portugal

Looks like the GN has a bit more info on the dash. A tach, for instance, and I'm going to guess you might have more rational blinker indicators - and possibly.... a fuel gauge? What's on that black thing between the speedo and the tach?

Front wheel looks skinnier - sort of Honda Rebel like.

Nice ride, I like the chrome front fender too! I think your GN looks better than my GZ did, maybe I'm just sentimental for the older styles. Anyway, Welcome to the forum!

Re: Greetings from Portugal

Add a FI engine and we get a TU 250 by the looks of it. The center piece between the tach and speedo would be would be a neutral indicator, hi-beam and signal indicator. If I am right I can reward myself with a donut. LOL. Suzuki also made a GN 400 verticle twin at one time. Too bad they are not still making them.

Not at all! I wouldn't have guessed that English wasn't your first language, until you used the word "revision". We use the same word here (Tenerife). The English word is "service" :2tup:

I wish I had the 400cc version, but dont think they came to Portugal... Anyway, 250cc is surelly more economic... just started doing fuel consumption stats here:

A GN400 Twin, now I would like to have seen that, anybody got pictures of one? Why do the bike mfg's stop making these great "smaller" bikes? There has got to be a market for them. I know I'm not interested in a 1000cc bike and I don't think I will be in the future, but I think the smaller bikes are cool and there just aren't many of them being made anymore. :??:
