No Headlight

Riding home last night I switched to hi beam, no light, return to low beam, no light.
Hi beam indicator works. So I think the switch is all right.

I was within 1/2 miles of the house, no big deal. (it was dark)

Today I checked the fuse and both were O.K.

Tomorrow I will pull the bulb and see what's going on.

I thought it strange that both would go at the same time.

Any one else have this happen?

Re: No Headlight

Sometimes when one filament goes, it takes out the other one. I'll bet it's the bulb.

Re: No Headlight

This will give me the motivation to install a set of lights that I took off of my ole Silverwing.

Oops, careful. The GZ electrical system will NOT support much additional lighting.
What kind and how many bulbs are in that set ??

If you replace the bulb in the stock light, wear gloves. The oil from your fingers can make the new bulb fail prematurely.

Re: No Headlight

The extra lights will be emergency lighting only.

I will hook them up and use a multi-meter to see how the charging goes.

Bulb was blown, both hi and lo.

$5.41 later all is good to go.

Re: No Headlight

I went to a Kawasaki, Yamaha, Sym, Kymco dealership 1/2 mile from my house.
The numbers are on the bulb, and they are pretty generic bulbs.

Suzuki dealer wanted 7.50 and is 12 miles away.

Any Wally World or auto parts store will have a bulb for you.
