I have not tried to take the shock apart but you can find some videos on youtube to show you how.

i cut the spring. after that, the shock was loose enough to take the top "eye" off. it is just threaded on like a bolt. then it was disassembled. i just didnt like that i had to cut the coil. but i accomplished what i wanted. lowered it a bit also.

i have pics. just have to upload. i had no way of compressing the spring. thats why i chose to cut. also i relocated the battery and all the wiring harness to the tool tray. ill post those pics also.
