Beale Street, Mississippi River, and Shelby Forrest
I have to get a new camera. Wife dropped ours a month ago and killed it.
Any who, Got out on July 4th in Memphis and headed downtown. Rode by Beale Street, our party place like Bourbon Street in New Orleans just not as big. It was packed. Moved on to Mud Island. This is actually a peninsula that has the Wolf River on one side and the Mississippi River on the other. River is very high. Rode next to the river a few miles and it was very relaxing. Past a couple of Indian women (dot on the head kind) that were walking in some really extravagant robes or whatever it is they wear. This is when I really missed my camera. They with there brightly colored robes with contrasting green trees, vegetation with the river behind would have made a nice picture. From there I went to Shelby Forrest. A park with some really twisting tree lined roads. It was shocking the temperature drop on these roads that were shaded from the sun by all these huge trees. Just cruised around taking it all in. It was nice to just get out an ride with no real preset destination.
