S-40 shocks would be easy and a simple bolt-on. Also a bunch cheaper. Don't over think the issue. The fancy adjustability shocks would probably be lost on a GZ anyway.

The link I gave you for the S40 shocks are off a bike with less than 3000 miles.They are practically brand new & look to be in perfect condition.
