Stock Tire Review - Metzler ME77
I just wanted to get your guy's opinions on our stock tires. I've had my bike for a couple months now and put about 1,500 miles on it.
I've found the stock tires to be adequate in dry conditions but terrible in wet conditions (bearing in mind that most tires do poorly in those conditions). Obviously, this being my first bike, I do not have much experience with other tires or how other bikes handle in the rain, but after reading other reviews online, it seems to confirm my experiences. http://www.tyretest.com/motorradreifen/ ... index.html I have 7,000 miles on these stock tires for an 07' and am thinking about replacing them soon. I've found Jonathan180iq excellent post on replacement tires if anyone else needs help. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1058&p=8737 Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Gee I don't know. I know one thing they were of no use on a damp road the other day when I ended up in the ditch. I assumed it was just the road conditions but then again...

Re: Stock Tire Review - Metzler ME77
There is no substitute for good tires.
Bike will ride and handle so much better. Old tires will get hard and lose grip. When I bought the SV650 in late Oct. I put new tires on it. We went to Daytona Bike week in March and I had 4000 miles on my tires. The back tire was almost to the wear bar, and would have make the trip, but... I put a new tire on the back and did not have to worry about that part of the trip.

Re: Stock Tire Review - Metzler ME77
I have changed the tyres from dunlop, cause they were 11 years old...which are stock in europe and everybody praise them, to metzelers perfect me 77. Can't make comparison cause it's my first real bike after 20 years, but after 2400km i can say they serve me good, in this time i drove through the rain, snow, low temperatures, high temperatures, dry... and must say they give me a lot confidence. Next tires will be dunlop d404, just to make comparison and cause everybody say that are real good.
