National Lemonade Day

Saturday, May 5, is National Lemonade Day, when kids are encouraged to set up lemonade stands and adults are encouraged to buy it to help teach the kids the value of working to earn money.

But if you live in one of those cities where cops shut down the kid's stands.....what can I say?

When I was a kid I never set up a lemonade stand, but I did mow lawns, rake leaves, shovel snow and deliver groceries to earn a few dollars. You don't see that any more, what a shame.

Re: National Lemonade Day

I used to wander in new home building areas selling cold tea to the workers. Pounding nails on a hot day can be a thirsty job.

I once helped reroof a barn in the middle of summer. Never again! I don't know how construction workers and roofers can do it in the summer.

Agreed, there are some things that are not meant to be repeated.
