Electrical reserve
I have been using a very good GPS app on my iPhone called " Motion-x". It is quite accurate but is also extremely power hungry and will run my iPhone down quickly if I do not plug it in while the app is in use. Is it safe, for the bike, to power my iPhone off a 12v power point on my GZ250?

Re: Electrical reserve
Lots of riders power their GPS or cells from a cigar type power point. Just be sure to get one that has a cap on it and is waterproof when not in use. I have used my GPS this way because the battery has a short life span. Use an inline fuse on the positive wire.

Re: Electrical reserve
The draw of charging a phone isn't that big of a deal. You won't have a problem.
The GZ's electrical left over is "relatively" weak compared to other bike's output. That doesn't mean that there is no room for additions. I once that three additional tail lights and a constantly powered volt meter and tachometer and never had a problem. Login or Register to Remove Ads |
