As a newbie to riding, you're statistically more likely to have an accident. [/quote] I would just like to point out, I am not a 'newbie' to riding, just lazy. I could be on my full licence 6 months ago if I got off my ass. could have been on my full years ago if I ever bothered to get the licence when I _should_ have...... But thats thing you do when your young and dumb. I Suppose thats why insurance cost so much when you are young. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Ah, more info comes forth. Young and dumb has a lot to do with it but you are a bit older and wiser now. Hopefully you are in the process of getting insured and licensed as soon as possible. As for insurance being a scam..............well, do the math over 20 years. The cost is nothing compared to what you can do financially with no insurance and a really bad day. $0.58 a day by the way.

Re: First ride on new GZ 250.
I've never actually heard anyone call motor vehicle insurance a scam, except for that renter's insurance they try to sell you when you rent a car.
Oh, and no offense intended whatsoever. It's just that, at least here in the states, if you hit someone and they even *think* that their neck *might* hurt the tiniest bit, you'll be on the hook for $20,000 just like that. And if it actually is hurt, it'll be more like $200,000, if you're lucky. It's easily worth the $20 a month, I say. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Nasty video of the NZ Wellington City coastline from the GZ 250, basically my backyard. Sorry about the quality, but it should give a general idea of what the city coastline is like.

Thanks for sharing your roads. It is always nice to see where members ride. There sure are some scary guard rails to dodge. They look to be more dangerous than running off the road.

Re: First ride on new GZ 250.
I had no problem driving on either side of the road. The only thing that confused me initially is knowing what lane to go into when making a left or right turn.
And when stepping off the curb to cross the street in London, those signs painted on the roadway reminding you to look right are there for a reason - so you don't get creamed by a car or bus coming from that way when you are used to expecting it coming from the other direction. |
