New Head & Cam Shaft

The saga continues. As we pulled the head off today we found some clogged oil ducts. Appears by the damage to the cam that they have been clogged for years. Not only do I need a new cam shaft but also the bearings and seats are badly worn inside the head. Anyone know what or where I might start for a solution?

I think if it was me,I would look for a low mileage used engine or at least a head.If you go to all the work to repair that head, you still end up with a head with a repaired spark plug hole, that can cause problems down the road.

Re: New Head & Cam Shaft

I here you, looking for a new head and cam shaft. I'm not really wanting to have the old one re-machined. Any place I out to start out looking?

Cylinder wall and everything looked great, I'm going to clean some deposits, off the top of the piston before I put it back together.

That is good news. Looks like you dodged a bullet there.
