There was a time when I was salivating over the Kawasaki ZZR250.
It's a scaled down model of the older Kawa 600. Probably the coolest 250 ever made IMHO. And the closest I ever came to being able to see one in real life was when I searched the Canadian sales or motorcycle websites.

How would that differ from the Ninja 250 that has been so popular over the years ?

See the difference?
Frame design, structure and suspenion are the biggest differences. The motor is the same.

The US model didn't get upgraded until 2008. Everything on the US model was a hold over from....1988

The ZZR250 kept up with modern bike styling and found a common medium, which did not look outdated until the late 90s-early 00s.

Don't get me wrong. The US 250 was a great little bike. I had the exact model pictured. But the ZZR would have allowed Kawasaki to basically pull the market out from under other smaller sporty-standards, like the GS500; something the dated styling of the US model didn't allow for.

Thank you, there is quite a few different styling ques and whatnot. I have not checked the U.S. market but we get a Ninja 400 here now. I think that would be quite a lot of fun without going the speed of sound.

Hmm, a GSX 250. Another smaller bike that would be loads of fun to ride. Last spring I did a double take on a Bandit. It looked too small to me. I asked the gal riding it and it was a 400 four cylinder Bandit. One of the many used gray market bikes we get here on the west coast.
I do wish there was a greater demand in North America for smaller bikes. We do miss out on some really neat smaller rides that would be a barrel of fun and wouldn't break the bank.

Must be time to dial up Suzuki Global and ogle what I will never see up close and personal.
