throttle cable lube

how do you lubricate the throttle cable? The manual says to oil it and shows the oil point up near the grip. The pic in the manual is too small to see exactly where. Also, what oil to use?

No kidding the pic in the manual is small. Might as well not be there. Oil first. A light oil such as 3 in 1. sewing machine oil, or my fav, ATF. To get to the cable I would loosen off the adjusters as much as possible( do not forget to mark the position some how) to get at the actual cable. Give it a few drops and cycle the throttle a bit to distribute the oil. No need to button things up for now. The oil will ooze down into the sheath and follow the cable to the other end eventually. Give it a few more drops and call it good. Button up the adjusters. Do the clutch too. It will be much easier. Have fun.
