Re: speed

As far as I know Lane-Splitting is illegal in most States. I know it's okay in California though.

The music that goes with has been known to drive people insane.

It reminded me of tootin' along on the GZ250.

Re: speed

A scooter can really get off the line quickly while you lose time on your motorcycle shifting.

Re: speed

Birdmove, Have you selected a bike for Hawaii yet? I've read of some of your choices they all sound good. I rented a Harley Fat Boy while in Hawaii, nice bike, but for me, way to much bike for there. I agree with you a 200cc to 250cc would be great. I had a DR 400cc and really liked it ,but that would be the largest bike I would consider in the Islands. Looking forward on you choice and move. Re: speed

Still deciding. We are hashing out an offer on the house we have to sell first. If the deal goes through it would close by about the third week in September. I'm planning on having two motorcycles-a dual sport and a street bike. Thye GZ250 is high on my list for a street bike. Large gas tank, good gas mileage, easy to work on,reliable, inexspensive--sounds like a good choice. For a dual spoirt, the Suzuki DR200, Yamaha XT250 and TW200, and the Honda crl230F are on my list.

Re: speed

Looks just like the interior of my variable speed Shopsmith!

The bell, on the right side of the drive, expands and causes the rear pulley to compress, which in turn enlarges the front pulley. Think of it like constantly changing sprocket sizes on both the front and the rear of your bike all the time. You start out with a little front sprocket and a large rear sprocket. But the faster you go, the larger the front sprocket gets and smaller the rear sprocket gets. It's a very smart invention.[/quote]

Re: speed

My kymco super 8 150cc would beat my gz to 30mph as many times as you wanted to do it! It did take a bit to get from 55-60max. I get the same gas mileage on the gz so i like the gz better. The guy that bought my scoot was suprised how quick it was off the line. The silverwings are quick too, harleys hate to see the back end from a light.

Re: speed

Closing date on our house just got pushed up to the end of August. The inspection is Tuesday, so I'm stressed out about that. I had to give notice at my job that my last day will be Aug 20th. If we get through the inspection allright, then things are going to be happening fast after that.

Still very interested in the GZ250.
