Learning to ride on a GZ250, I think I'm in love
Hi, I'm Stacey, a five foot tall first time owner and rider, and I'm glad to have found this forum so that I can pick everyone's brain.
I went with my dad to buy a scooter since that's what I figured I could afford, fortunately the gods of auto sales and impulse buyers were smiling down upon me because there was a used 2008 GT250 directly between the scooters and the finance offices, my dad's impulses made him ask the price (3,300.00 OTD and only 1,200 miles on it) and my dad offered to pay the difference because it was "safer" Personally, the only thing I could think was  holy crap, I get to go on the freeway and can put both feet down on the ground... <3<3<3 I am now the proud owner of a sexy bike and am going to be taking an msf course, since teaching yourself to ride with no help or experience scares me. After that, I just need to find people to ride with! (^_^)

Re: Learning to ride on a GZ250, I think I'm in love
Hey Stacey,
I have a 2008 Gz as well. Welcome to the forum. If you want to organize a ride to Joshua tree od palms to pines etc. once you get soem mile under your belt, there's lots of great riding in the immediate area. Take it slow - don't rush to get up to speed - you'll be zipping along in a few months. While you are waiting to take the course pick up a copy of Proficient Morotcycling - lots of good riding tips in there. Have fun!

Thank you for the tip on the book, I'll be sure to check it out. Of course I'll be looking for riding partners when I'm ready to leave the neighborhood. Thanks, I look forward to it!
