Removing the Sticker

My wife has been riding her new GZ for a little while now and has completed the MSF Course. Now she’s starting to focus on details. One of those details is the orange and white ‘Warning’ sticker that was tacked smack dab in the middle of the top of the fuel tank when she bought the bike. She started to peal it off, but only the clear plastic topcoat would come off. She started to pick at the corners and it just flakes off in pin-head-sized fragments.

Does anyone have a method for removing that sticker without damaging the paint? We’ve thought of hairdryer, goo gone, WD40, but are hesitant to just experiment. Hopefully someone has had success they can pass along. If so, please do.

Thanks.

Re: Removing the Sticker

Hair dryer, wd-40 and a credit card or plastic to rub it off.

Re: Removing the Sticker

Turtle Wax now makes a sticker remover in a spray can. Works pretty good. Found it at walmart.

Re: Removing the Sticker

Peeled mine off as soon as I got it home from the dealer. Peeled right off and a little goo gone for the adhesive, then wax.

Re: Removing the Sticker

Heat gun to remove. WD-40 to clean up residue.
