Hail in Los Angeles, Jan. 22, 2010 .. at noon time

I think that its very rare wheather around here.
Today, while I was taking rest I got hail from the sky.
It's noon time here in Los Angeles... strange ha ha ha
Never had this kind of it at day time since I've lived in.

I rushed to get camera, but all were already melt down,
but one (seems was big one, still in bean size) on my bike cover.

We had it out here Tuesday afternoon as well. A pretty good dumping of pea to marble sized "cubes." WIth lots of lighting, thunder and high winds to go with.

You guys way over there have never seen a really good hailstorm.
When I was in Iowa in the early 70's there was a severe thunderstorm/hailstorm and it caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to new cars on a lot of a large auto dealership, totaling some of the cars with massive dents and broken windshields and glass. One good side effect of a bad hailstorm was once on a sailing trip with a few other boats, just as we all got into the dock at Montauk, Long Island, NY, there was a sever hailstorm lasting maybe 5 min. After that we all ran out on the docks to gather up the pieces of hail and put them in our coolers - free ice.
Have the mud slides ended out there yet?

Hey, we have to play the hands we're dealt. Hail is rare here. Call us back when you have an earthquake. :poke2:

The rain has stopped for a couple of days, but slide threats remain until the hills have had a good few days of drying out. And you should see the garbage that will be washing up on the beaches. All kinds of trash and some really weird stuff too. And more rain is due (not as much though) Monday night. :itsokay:
