You're right, we DO ride a powerful bike. After all it is just as powerful as a Model T Ford, which had a 2.9L 20 HP engine to move 1,200 pounds of car.

Consider - the first car patented (Daimler, currently known as Mercedes) was only 0.7 HP (1886) and for pre-WWII cars it was normal to have only 9 to 20 HP.

Some examples from the "motorcycles" category:
Triumph 450cc - 3.5 HP (1907)
Harley Davidson V-twin - 7 HP (1909)
BMW R24 - 12 HP (1948)
Ducati Desmo - 19 HP (1956)

A Suzuki GZ250 is very powerful. Historically. :2tup:
