Well certainly, if your bike or car pings with 87, then you should use the expensive gasoline.

I just sort of assumed that everyone knows that.

Gas is still 4-something a gallon out there where you live AlanC, HOLY CRAP!!!!! its been hovering at about 2.20-2.30 a gallon here, of course that is for 87 octane but still.
Ragged Point is halfway between nowhere and the middle of nowhere (see Big Sur, CA1, Monterey), that's why it was so expensive. Closer to home I think it's like 3 bucks and change. I wish it was a little more expensive - I might get some hits on the GZ.

Over here the octane rating is different. It's 95 or 98 at the pumps. I've just converted litres to gallons, & € to $, & we're paying $4.70 a gallon at all the petrol stations. No chance of getting it cheaper anywhere.
