Pirelli generally makes performance tires. They "stick" real good.
Typically that is a trade off with wear; more stick, less wear.

How many miles a year do you think you might ride ??

My totally wild guess is that a Pirelli "racing" tire will last no longer than 10,000 miles...BUT....if you only ride 2K per year, that's 5 years and would be a reasonable investment.
If, OTOH, you think you might ride 10K per year, then the sticky tires probably aren't your best choice, as you might be changing them every year.

From my previous post under TIRES: (a simple search!!)

I use Metzeler or Pirelli touring tires on all my bikes. I've gotten great mileage in the past (8 to 10k on a set) and they have great straight line & cornering grip.

The set I just put on the GZ was a Pirelli Route on the rear and the Pirelli Sport Demon on the front. (the Route model was not available in the correct front size)

I have a couple of pals with the Cheng Shins that have had sidewall problems, so I stick two the above mentioned brands.
