Blackouts
I have been talking to a lot of my friends and reading many forum posts lately. I've noticed that many people have stories of just 'blacking out' while they ride causing them to crash.
Anyone know what causes these blackouts and/or any hints to prevent them? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: Blackouts
People who drink excessive amounts of alcohol have blackouts! I would stop drinking too much and the blackouts will stop! Hope this helps you and answers your question!

I've been riding for 40+ years and have NEVER heard a single person say that. People occasionally "black out" in cars and crash too; not sure that the frequency or causes would be any different than on a bike.....although the outcome might be worse. There is another thread on here right now discussing heat stroke and dehydration. That's one possible cause that wouldn't be present when driving a car. Just exactly where have you seen these reports?

Re: Blackouts
I read one post in another one of my topics were a guy mentioned his wife blacking out for no aparent reason. Then I have heard approx. 4 or 5 other people I know mention it happening as well. I guess thats not really a lot. Just wondering if anyone had information or knew more about it. Just curious I guess.

Re: Blackouts
First I've heard of a motorcycle induced blackout. Unless your helmet is Really too tight a fit. Could be an Urban Legend started by some one with a medical condition and blacked out while on a bike. OR it could be a good excuse for some one who was not paying attention to their riding and had a crash.
