Valve adjustment

Hey everyone, I recently posted a blog detailing the GZ250 valve adjustment procedure. This is the first time I've adjusted my valves, so any tips/info/criticism is more than welcome. :cool:

Good job. Never done valve adjustmnet but after this illustration I was thinking I should give a try. I might take more time for the first time but it would be fun and save some $$.

I think that's the best "how-to" I've ever seen; thanks for taking the time to do this. Even though I don't have my GZ anymore, this helped me understand the process much better - the directions are clear, but words can only convey so much information. The photos and the arrows really helped.

Very nicely done! This will help people who have never done this a lot. Great photos!

One suggestion. Not everyone has a flat wrench that fits into the slot on the generator cover well enough not to gouge it up. A handy trick I've learned is to use a thick fender washer available at any hardware store. If they only have thin ones, you can double them up. If you get one that fits about right, you can just use the same screwdriver tip to turn it that you use with the spark plug wrench.

How about a quarter or half dollar? - that may fit, and use a vise grip or pair of pliers if you have no washers or anything else on hand.

Thanks for the compliments! I knew blogging this stuff wouldn't be a total waste of time! :tongue: After I posted it, it occurred to me that it might belong in the how-to section, though. O_o
