Good Rental Price for GZ250?
Hi! I'm meeting a guy tonight about possibly renting his GZ250 for a few weeks until I can buy. What do you think would be a fair price? It's a newer bike (2007?), good condition. What would you suggest for a monthly rental price? Thanks!!

Harley rentals go for 185.00 a day for the big bikes, so you could base a price off of that. For a GZ maybe twice the persons monthly payment? Also check into insurance for you on that bike.

Even if he HAS full coverage and it covers others riding with his permission, it likely would NOT cover anything in a rental situation. So, I agree, get your own insurance and if you can't work that part out.....alas, don't do it. The 2X monthly payment sounds like a good idea to me (for a month, that is). Other than that, my guess would be something in the $50-$100 a week range.

Ya I called my ins. co. when I first started to borrow my buddies bike for the long rides. I was covered with liability, but not comp and collision. It is definitely something that should be looked into.

Re: Good Rental Price for GZ250?
Personally I think this is a Not Such A Great Idea for the person renting it to you unless he has either:
A) No assets of any kind. B) A crack legal team. In many cases, in the event of a catastrophe, the registered owner of the vehicle involved can be exposed to legal claims. If you can't really afford to buy it, you probably shouldn't be riding it. He might be better off just signing it over to you and letting you make or miss the first few months payments. If you don't ever get in a position to pay for it, he could repossess it.
