Re: New from Northern Virginia

Sounds a little higher to me, but as others have said, its spring time. I bought my 2001 gz250 for $1,200 with around 5,400 miles, but I waited quite a while for it and jumping on it the day it was listed. Since then, I have not seen any for sale except one or two and they were priced a bit higher. All depends on how long you are willing to wait and how far you are willing to travel.

Re: New from Northern Virginia

So, I can't seem to find a GZ250 local to me that has relatively low mileage. If you guys recall, I did find one but sadly I didn't bite soon enough and someone else picked it up. Since then, I've been looking around and found the TU250x. Similarly, they are hard to find. I did find a dealer that had one in stock so, I put a deposit on it. I hope to pick it up Wednesday or Thursday! Yippee!

Hey there! I took the MSF course with Matt and Tim at the George Mason (Manassas) campus just a couple weeks ago. I think it was May 14/15. Great course!

Turns out the bike I was looking at was sold. I'm gonna end up with a TU250x; hope to pick it up Wednesday or Thursday. If you are new to riding like I am, I wouldn't mind some company.

Re: New from Northern Virginia

I would think the TU will have comparable power to the GZ. The difference will be in engine response and crispness. The FI will mean no more messing with a choke and idle speeds. What that leaves you with is a more trouble free bike but one that is more complicated if repairs are needed.
Let's hope that any TU owners will continue to remain here and keep us updated on their bikes. The TU should be even more reliable than the GZ over time and general maintenance is pretty much the same.

And we need pics of bikes and smiling owners.

Sounds like a plan! I don't mind providing updates. I'll certainly post a pic or two when I get my new ride. Maybe a mod can recommend a better section on this forum for TU discussion? I know this is the "Introduce Yourself" area.

Thanks
