Re: Evil Mutant Attack Squirrel of Death
Ha! I don't care if that was real or not, that was the funniest thing I've read in a while! You didn't manage to snap any pictures while this was happening? Shame shame.

Re: 2000 Suzuki Katana 600
Sweet bike Primal! I would've loved a Katana, but my wife wanted something comfortable to ride on. I won't complain anyway
Have lots of fun!

Re: Went for a 180 mile ride yesterday
Wow! Looks like a great ride! How'd you like those twisties?
Just curious, what other bikes were you riding with? Couldn't tell very well from the photos.

Re: Sold the GZ
Well, a right turn is simply raising your left hand, straight out=left turn, hand down=stop. Now timing it to get my hand back on the clutch to stop is something else  .

Re: Sold the GZ
Yeah, I've already had a couple of instances of someone turning in front of me because they didn't realize I was going to be making a left hand turn  . One of the stems is broken on the...

dannylightning, where did that all come from? 3 words, TMI :neener: . Just kidding.
Funny you mentioned Shell, seems I just read somewhere else that Shell stations were ethanol free (save for...

Re: Mah new ride.
Very nice! Love the red, and the nice little custom touches, like the side cover graphics. What is that, BTW? Can't tell on my laptop? Nice grips too. Are they foam? I was looking at some of those...

Re: 'Tis a sad day....
Primal, I was in a similar predicament recently, not with a bike not running, but having to decide between a nicer old bike or a "eeeh" new(er) one. I wanted to take the $1,500 I got from my GZ and...

Re: Sold the GZ
Water, actually the bike is VERY smooth, even feels smoother than the GZ. I don't notice much pulsing.
I like the styling too. I really like the look the PO was going for, kind of sporty and...

Re: Sold the GZ
Thanks :). Actually, the seat is taking some getting used to. It's so wide at the back that it is constantly pushing me forward. Still getting used to the adjustment.

Re: Sold the GZ
Picked up my new (to me) bike last night!
It's a 95 Yamaha Virago 1100, 18,500 miles. I got it for $1,600. It's been modded a little bit. The guy was working on making it some sort of a...

Re: Tricky Shifter
I've noticed what Dark is talking about before too. It's not so much like the lever is physically harder to push down, but like there's actual mechanical resistance. I'm not sure if that's what...

Sold the GZ
Well, I finally sold the GZ. I loved that bike, but I've been going on more and more longer distance rides with a group, sometimes with my wife on the back, and at higher speeds 2 up for long...

Alan, sounds like the course you took was either over-crowded or your teacher just wasn't that good. Mine was nothing like that. Lots of good helpful insight from our facilitator. I could understand...

Re: Howdy from the plains.
:plus1:
Learn it right the first time. Better to find out what happens when you grab the front brake with the wheel turned at a slow speed in a controlled environment than in a parking lot or on...

Re: Howdy from the plains.
It's worth waiting until you can take it. There are things you'll learn that do not come naturally (i.e. counter-steering, looking ahead to where you want to go, emergency braking etc.) The time...
