Air Box Removal/ Carb Adjustment
I just removed my air box and put on a new filter and crankcase air breather. I took it out for a quick ride and it really bogs down when I start to accelerate past 1/4 throttle.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Is this your first carburated vehicle?
With fuel injection, like your car, you can just throw on anything you want and the computer compensates for the air flow. On a mechanical carb, you have to physically adjust the carb to be able to flow the proper amount of fuel for the increased flow. There are several threads you should read: http://www.gz250bike.com/forum/showt...hlight=jetting http://www.gz250bike.com/forum/showt...hlight=jetting http://www.gz250bike.com/forum/showt...hlight=jetting http://www.gz250bike.com/forum/showt...hlight=jetting ....THere are tons and tons of other threads if you want to read until your eyes bleed. For the future note, ANY change to the intake or exhaust is going to require some carb tweaking. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I have found the made by emgo and are sold in sizes 28mm-60mm. I haven't removed my factory air box yet to measure.
