my bike electrical system is still suffering from a fall.
hello.
i recently fall with my bike on a gravel road. i thought the damage was minor, not of the electrical would connect on account of a blown 20A fuse in the starter relay (the one on the left/closer to the back of the bike). when i changed this it worked briefly before blowing the fuse again...and again. i've checked the connections and wires and it doesn't look like it is shorting out. Any ideas? I'm also having trouble finding it in the service manual. i'm keen to get back on it but its a pain when you can only ride it 50m and back before the fuse goes kablooee. Re: my bike electrical system is still suffering from a fall
The dump and the main circuit short may or may not be connected.
A couple months back mine started blowing the main bus occasionally. It became more frequent. Caused a fire in the rain. Turns out it was an old wear spot that had been repaired poorly and our salt air on the coast had gotten into it and corroded it to a point of high resistance. The fix was a different wiring harness. As a new one was $200, I took a shot with a salvaged one off E-bay. So far, so good. With Regards,
