Actually that happened to me. One of the local LEO's stopped me to chat about the Vstrom shortly after I got it. He was considering buying a Vstrom and wanted my reasons for the purchase and my riding impressions. Never got to talk with him again as he transferred to a more Northerly detachment soon after.

Here, some police departments have a quota system, where officers must give out so many tickets a month. They will say that they don't, but I know better. No bonuses that I am aware of.
