New to the biker world

Hello all, I am new here and hopefully today I will join the biker world. I looked at a 2008 GZ250 last night, however, it needed a new battery. I talked to the owner and it is running today, so this afternoon I will be picking it up. I think I got a good deal, I am paying $1700 and it has 8000 miles.

Re: New to the biker world

Welcome and congrats! I'm sure you'll love the bike. Are you going to be taking the MSF basic rider course? Riding is great and fun, but anything you can do to improve your odds is definitely worth it. Plus, it's a fun weekend and you'll get to meet great people!

Also, just since you said you were new to riding, make sure you get some riding gear. Nice gear is great, but any gear is better than no gear. Beyond the helmet, that means, like a jacket with shoulder and elbow armor, pants with knee, shin and maybe hip armor, good boots that cover the ankle, and gloves.

er... sorry if that was too much.

Welcome!

Absolutely the best advice. Rider training and dress like a power ranger. You won't regret it.
