Windshield question again
I know this has been covered before but just wanted to check before I order a windshield for my wife. Bike is 2009, she is 5.4, and I am looking at the SlipStreamer SS-28 Sport Fairing. I like the 4 point mounting system and we are looking at the smoked tint. Any thoughts ??? Has anything new come out ???

Re: Windshield question again
I had one of those on my bike and liked it alot. It's a little tricky to get on and adjusted but much easier with 2 people, very stable, does a good job of blocking the wind on your face and hands and looks pretty good. Like with all windshields you'll have to play a little with the height and angle of rake to eliminate air flow coming up underneath and any buffeting around your head. At 5'4" she should still be able to see right over the top of it of it's set low, right over the headlight.

Bike shows sometime offer good discounts on new products. Swap meets can have a good variety of parts to fit almost any bike which may help you. Maybe look in a wrecking yard for an undamaged shield on a wrecked bike. |

Re: Windshield question again
Just a heads-up when mounting a shield. Cover the headlight and tank with towels to prevent scratches and dings. You just know you will drop a tool or clamp.

Re: Windshield question again
Thanks WW, but here i know that at least three people own a gz and none with windshield. I'll try to lurk on some, but at the end, if 100+ € will be in plus in my wallet i'll go to order one via i-net or go to Louis shop in austria and buy one. First also i need to get a grip of the bike and see if i'll be in mentaly and financially state of buying vz 800, honda shadow or kawasaki 900 classic in years to come, which became my favourite (kawa) for last few days But first GZ 250 - THE GREAT... lol

Re: Windshield question again
I had a National Cycle Plexstar 2 on my GZ and I highly recommend it. It had four attaching points and having it protect your hands was a double plus. You can see it here:
