Day 1 with with "GZZY"
Hi,
I went & picked up my GZ250 today, as pictured below. 1998 model with 9000 km on it, or 5592 miles. & I only had to ride 350 km or 217 miles to get it home. :2tup: I know everyone on this site has more exprience with this that I do, so sorry for staing the obvious. So, I thought I would share my little story of the day. Lessons learned Lesson 1: I learned how much a moth in the face hurts at 100km/h or 68 mph Lesson 2: The retro goggles are not aerodynamic enough to be worn outside your helmet at 100km/h or 68 mph Lesson 3: There are 71 Ghosts for a newbie on a trip like this. ( Ghost shifts, but was sure I was about to summon a 6th gear ) Lesson 4: The bike went great on the highway, & was great to ride all round. Lesson 5: I should have bought one of these bikes years ago, I have never had so much fun. :2tup: Here's where it all started, Hervey Bay Queensland Australia. 2 hours later I was in Buderim Anyway, it was a great experience, & I am looking forward to many many miles with my new little bike. Re: Day 1 with with "GZZY"
Welcome to the forum. Sounds like somebody spent a few years breaking in the bike for you. Very few kms so there is lots of riding left in her. Nice pics, looks like a great day for a ride. The kms to miles factor is a bit off. 100 kms is actually 62 mph but you are easily excused. I still go through that silly stuff in Canada and we have been metric for 30 years. I grew up with mph and Imperial gallons which makes my converting calculator my best friend. Ride safe and watch out for moths.

Sounds like it went good. A bit of a sharp learning curve, but now that you survived you are well on your way. Have fun!
