Any experience with OEM valve tools ?
Today I checked the valve clearance at almost 5,700 miles and it's getting tight, they will need an adjustment in a few thousand miles. Also they seem to wear a little uneven - for instance, the right inlet side fitted a 0.0015" gauge tight, and at the left side the gauge slid in easily.
So - does anyone here have experience with the Suzuki tools 09900-20803 (Thickness gauge) and 09917-14920 (Valve adjuster wrench) ? A little over three years ago, Badbob recommended the Kawasaki Valve Adjustment Kit, and Motion Pro Tappet Feeler gauges. I'm just wondering, what's better to adjust my valves, the OEM stuff (doesn't seem to come with a wrench to hold/tighten the locknuts), or the hardware Badbob recommended ? :??:

Re: Any experience with OEM valve tools ?
I bought the Suzuki adjusting tool, and was disappointed. It is too long, and you can't adjust the exhaust valves without moving a wiring harness on the frame. I took mine down into my shop and shortened it, and now it's fine. But you shouldn't have to do that to a purpose made tool sold by the manufacturer. You can buy a set of feeler gauges at Sears, bend them and cut them down a bit, and they will work perfectly.
