Need gz250 motor or top end parts

I have a 2003 Gz 250 that was allowed to run low on oil by a previous owner. The motor failed by dropping a exhaust valve into the cylinder. The cylinder head ,piston ,cam, and rocker arms are all toast. I can replace the top end ,but am a little afraid of any transmission damage. There was scant oil left in the case when I drained it ,but no noticeable metal. I am hopping to find a good engine on a salvage bike or top end parts at a reasonable price.

Thanks, Kevin

Re: Need gz250 motor or top end parts

Thanks for the feed back. I went ahead a just bit the bullet on buying all new parts on line. The bill was substantial (750.00 ) ,but considering The bike was almost free, I still ended up with a nice inexpensive motorcycle.I have been riding it for just a few days and am still adjusting to the seating configuration of a cruiser style bike. I have always ridden dual purpose or sports bikes before this one. Its just strange to not be able to stand up. I love the look of the bike and soon will adapt to actually being comfortable while commuting.

FYI, the GZ250 has more of a standard seating position than a cruiser seating position.

Not when you figure in the place they put the pegs and controls it certainly does NOT.
How do you figure.....????

I too miss being able to stand up on the pegs, for several reasons, the biggest of which is butt cramp relief.
