Brake light does not come on
I've tried replacing the bulb and adjusting the switch, but no luck. Tail light works fine, just no brake light. Anyone have experience with this? I guess I could buy and replace the switch, but wanted to see if anyone has any input on the subject first.
Thanks

Re: Brake light does not come on
Does the brake light work when you use the front brake ?
On mine (2005) each brake light switch is "fed" from a different fuse. Check the fuses. [edit] Fuses are the numbers 4 (15A) and 5 (10A) on the wiring diagram Do you have a multimeter or volt meter ?

You could try rinsing the switch out with WD40 but that would only be a temporary fix. If the wiring is not unplugged or broken, might as well order a switch. Oops, hold on a minute........which switch are you talking about? The brake light should be activated by 2 of them; one for rear pedal and one on the bars for the front lever. Where you concentrate your efforts next depends on which one (or how many) of the switches fails to activate the light. (Note: Ignition switch needs to be ON to test!).

Re: Brake light does not come on
Actually, neither were working, but I figured out why the rear brake switch wasn't working. There is a piece that connects the cable coming from the brake pedal to the switch which has disappeared. I rigged it with a piece of wire (temporarily) just to test it and it does work when the cable and switch are connected. Haven't figured out the issue with the front. It appears that all the fuses are intact.
