Can't upload pictures to album

When I hit "Upload pictures" button, the first text box deletes, and nothing happens..

What type of file are the pics, and what file size?

I can't see that you've created an album yet.

I am having issues with uploading pictures from my laptop file to create a new album. As soon as I click on Choose File, the page freezes up and I have to shut my laptop down to get out of it. I have sucky internet service in my area but wonder if there is anything I am doing wrong.
