5th Gear = ? + Harmoni ?

Ok so the bike will hit 90 in 4th and bog into 5th
Is 5th gear really that low, as in..
To hit 120-130kmh on the highway ..just wait to get back into the powerband once I'm in 5th?

Also ..there seems to be a harmonic in the exhaust resonance ..has anyone else noticed this.
.I ask because the other causes of this can be any number of bad things

I can push the bike to 70mph in 4th. Everything is stock. Unless speedo is off, but I know it's close up to about 45 because of the radar signs in my area. Maybe you are shifting too soon? 5th is terrible on this little mouse. Once I shift to 5th I lose speed unless I'm going downhill and then I can touch 80mph.
I never shift back down to fourth unless I'm at 50 mph or below. So I just live with zero torque in 5th. Once I'm there I'm pretty much at the mercy of the bike. Lol

I have hit 84mph on my bike on a level road with no wind. I do, however, have the 16 tooth sprocket on the front.

Actually it was fine at 110 and with no headwind and a bit of draft it was 120. Bone stock trim.

I gave it a bit of choke and got more top end , these bikes really are brutally lean out of the box.

Funny how the Canadian manual says 87 octane , a tank of 91 seems much happier, when I'm done my cleaning cycle I'll stick to 91-94 I think.

How about oil additives? Anyone use STP or the like ?

Be careful with oil additives. If they contain mollifiers it will likely cause clutch slippage. Stick with motorcycle specific oils. The oil must meet Jaso specs. Shell Rotella meets Jaso specs and is cheap. Their 15-40 dino oil will work like a charm in the GZ.

Yep, no one seems to have tried any topoils so I'll avoid.. for now...
I did find the weird harmonic finally!...my air filter was in wrong ...there is an arrow that points up (duh,) when I put the new filter in I aligned it and the sound is gone.

Ack! 87 octane o_O
I highly suggest 91 or better.
I use 93.
79.4437 mpg last check.
Though I get the occasional ping in this Texas heat.

Waste of money & can do damage.......These bikes are low compression & designed to run on cat piss if needed.
