Friday drive.
friday drive 011.JPG[/attachment:36ujfttq]friday drive 011.JPG[/attachment:36ujfttq]Yes, I said drive, not ride. But then I though Lynda might enjoy a drive and a picture taking session on the road. So off we go. Left Squamish B.C. and headed towards Lillooet B.C. Just around 385 kms (240 miles) round trip. The best news is the road surface is really nice now. All of the rough patches have been replaced by a whole new road surface. Gotta love asphalt that is less than a year old and not full of holes. The paving crews must have been busy late last summer/early fall.
Took a couple pics of my fav stop at Duffy lake. I've post pics before but I can't get enough of the location and view. We played leap frog with my friend Don on his Ural sidecar rig all the way up. I managed an almost pic of him at Duffy lake when he rode by. 9 Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: Friday drive.
The next 2 pics were almost heartbreaking. I spotted this BMW and hit the brakes. The engine was warm to the touch so it was a recent event. Don caught up to us and stopped and another 4 or 5 bike within a couple minutes. Couldn't find a body so that was a very good sign to me. Don't know how it happened but the bike stopped pretty hard and did some ugly damage. I'm leaning towards wildlife jumping out of the trees. One never really knows.
A couple hours later on the return trip there was a tow truck just hauling the bike away. Here's hoping the rider was healthy enough to have made the arrangements himself. If not then some one was obviously handling his affairs for a short time. I will have to watch the news for a fatality on #99. |

Re: Friday drive.
Thanks for the pretty pictures.
Looks like the damage to the bike was mostly up high? :2tup: :2tup:

Re: Friday drive.
Likely will be a write off if frame damage is suspected.

Re: Friday drive.
Nothing in the news and no rumors around so I would have to guess the rider made out pretty lucky overall. I have to assume he had some injury as an ambulance was called but did turn back before getting to the crash sight. There is a dead spot in cell service there so some one called from down the road when service picked up. An ambulance was dispatched but in the meantime the rider was apparently transported by a good samaritan.
